Is Sepia making a comeback?

Sepia vs. Color vs. Black & White? That is the question.

To be completely honest I am usually not one to be overly atracted to sepia toned images, I'm more of a black & white and color kinda girl. But lately sepia has caught my interest by surprise. Is there a beautiful grey area that I'm missing out on?

They say, "Color shows people's cloths while Black & White shows people's souls". If this is true (which I believe it is) then what does sepia show?

Who is a fan?

  1. I used to love Sepia for the vintage quality that it brought to a photo, but I think over time, we've figured out ways to find a vintage look without losing all the color. Doesn't really do anything for me anymore, it almost looks flat and uninteresting against black and white or the color photos that are given an aged look. With black and white, you are still able to get depth, structure and tons of contrast. I think you lose that with sepia.

  2. I very much agree with you. Well said in many ways. Thanks for the feedback! Hope all is well in Nashville!
